Security Management

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Many countries where industries operate are considered high-risk environments. Due to the nature of the business and the money involved most industry professionals and infrastructure are often considered targets and security is of the utmost importance in protecting assets. The ability to develop and maximize new opportunities in the high-risk environments where many of today’s resources are found is critical.

The course identifies, examines and demonstrates how to mitigate the risks encountered in the industries today – surely a topic of increasing importance. The risks range in type and scale from regional (political) to operational. After examining the principles that define “security”, the understanding revealed by an appropriate risk assessment is demonstrated. The management of the human resources required to react to the risk assessments is then presented. Specific risk mitigation methods are described, and other distinct topics such as budgets and travel security discussed.

Intended Audience
This course is designed for anyone involved in risk management in any industry, in whatever context. Also those who may be concerned that their job unfortunately exposes them to a risk that they feel they have to manage personally.
